John A. Amster
CEO & Co-founder of RPX
John A. Amster is the CEO and cofounder of RPX Corp. Prior to cofounding RPX, Mr. Amsterwas the General Manager of Strategic Acquisitions and Vice President of Licensing at Intellectual Ventures, responsible for strategic acquisitions of patent portfolios as well as developing the software and ecommerce licensing programs.
Previously Mr. Amster was Managing Director and founded the M&A Advisory practice for Ocean Tomo, completing several important transactions in the early patent market, including the sale of Commerce One. Mr. Amster also served as Vice President and Secretary at InterTrust Technologies, where he worked on intellectual property transactions, merger and acquisition activities, and latestage financing activities, including the sale of InterTrust to a PhilipsSony joint venture for $453 million.
Mr. Amster frequently speaks on patent litigation matters at various industry conferences and in the media. He has been recognized in The American Lawyer’s 2010 review of “The 25 Most Influential People in IP” and in Managing Intellectual Property magazine’s “The 50 Most Influential People in IP.”
Mr. Amster received his JD from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his BA from Middlebury College.
Mr. R. “Ari” Arivazhagan is Senior General Manager at Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Limited. Ari is responsible for all Information Technology decisions and heads that effort at HDFC. He has been with HDFC for over 20 years and holds dual bachelor degrees in Science and Technology as well as a graduate degree in Management. Ari resides in Mumbai, India.
Siva is co-founder and CEO of Tyfone, Inc. Before his current responsibility, he was with Intel Laboratories specializing in energy and yield aware designs. He has authored over 60 technical papers in peer reviewed conferences and journals, and frequently lectures on technology forums. He also has over 100 issued/pending patents and holds 5 divisional recognition awards from Intel and an award in 2003 for having 19 issued patents in that year.
Siva is a frequent speaker at a wide range of forums including ones sponsored by academia and industry as well as organizations such as IEEE, FSTC, CTIA, SmartCard Alliance and FTC. He is a co-author and editor of the Leakage [Energy] in Nanometer CMOS Technologies book published by Springer. Siva is an Adjunct Faculty with the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Portland State University and Oregon State University. He is the Chair of Technology Directions sub-committee at the International Solid-State Circuit Conference and has been an active member of the Technical Program Committees of A-SSCC, and International Symposiums focusing on Low Power Design (ISLPED) and Quality Electronic Design (ISQED).
Siva has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Siva is located in Portland, US.
Dr. Rajesh Srivathsa (previously Rajesh Rajagopalan) is the Managing Partner of Ojas Venture Partners, a Venture Capital firm focused on investing in early stage technology startups. Prior to Ojas, Rajesh has worked at IBM Watson Research Center and at Lucent Digital Video (a venture of Lucent Technologies) in research and engineering functions; at Emuzed (a mobile multimedia startup) as the Head of Sales and Marketing and most recently at Aricent (a KKR, Sequoia and Flextronics owned telecommunications services company) as the business head of the mobile business unit.
Dr. Srivathsa holds a Bachelor of Technology, Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, University of Texas at Austin and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign respectively.
Prabhakar is co-founder, President and COO of Tyfone, Inc. Prabhakar is a seasoned technology executive and is responsible for all product and business development aspects of Tyfone in Asia-Pacific and is responsible for developing the strategic plans for the company.
Previously, Prabhakar was Founder, CEO of Finatus, Inc, a venture-backed, web-application outsourcing company and was responsible for all the strategic and business management aspects of the company. Prior to founding the company, he was responsible for Strategic Planning at Intel Online Services, and also was part of the Intel Architecture Business Group’s (Reseller Products Division) Small Business Services/Business Development team.
Prabhakar received his MBA from the University of Chicago, an MS in Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas and a BE from Bharathiyar University in India. Prabhakar is located in Bangalore, India.
Bruce G. Willison is a Professor of Management in the UCLA Anderson School of Management,where he served as dean of from 1999 to 2005. While dean, UCLA Anderson’s faculty was ranked number one in “Intellectual Capital” by Business Week.
Mr. Willison’s distinguished 26year career in the banking industry began at Bank of America, where he held several positions in Los Angeles and Mexico City. In 1979 he joined First Interstate Bancorp, where he held various executive positions, including chairman and CEO of First Interstate Bank of Oregon, and chairman, president, and CEO of First Interstate Bank of California, as well as vice chairman of the bank’s holding company, First Interstate Bancorp, until 1996. Mr. Willison then became the president and chief operating officer of H.F. Ahmanson and Co., the parent of Home Savings of America, one of the largest savings banks in the country.
A native of Riverside, California, Mr. Willison earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from UCLA, and an MBA in finance from the University of Southern California. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, and currently serves as a director of Health Net, Inc., SunAmerica’s annuity fund complex, and Move, Inc.
