Atlanta de novo bank launches spinoff in Cobb County

Access Cobb, a new venture started by $261 million-asset Craft Bank, is now welcoming customers in Marietta.

Cobb County, Georgia, finally has its first locally-based bank.

Access Cobb, a spinoff of $261 million-asset Craft Bank, opened its doors in Marietta this week.

Led by veteran banker and Cobb County resident Terri Bunten Guthrie, Access Cobb is designed exclusively for local businesses, providing tailored services including business loans, lines of credit, and flexible checking and savings options.

“Everyone deserves to know their banker and have their banker know them,” Guthrie said in a press release.

Guthrie has lived in Cobb since 1998 and has more than three decades of banking experience, including serving as chief lending officer at First Landmark Bank.

Craft Bank is based in Atlanta and was launched just five years ago.

Its President and CEO, Ross Mynatt, describes Access Cobb as the first example of “branchising”—a model that replicates Craft’s foundation while allowing each location to develop its own local flavor.

Mynatt said more such efforts could be forthcoming based on Access Cobb’s success.
