City of Boston Credit Union hires industry veteran as new chief executive

Lisa Perrin, who spent five years at the helm of Worcester Credit Union, is the organization’s new CEO.

The City of Boston Credit Union has hired Lisa Perrin to be its new president and CEO.

Perrin was most recently the chief executive of $100 million-asset Worcester Credit Union, which is also headquartered in Massachusetts.

The $585 million-asset City of Boston CU said in a press release that Perrin has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her focus on fostering a culture of accountability, professional development and ethical behavior has led to asset growth, approved efficiency and heightened profitability, the company said.

“Her expertise and vision will undoubtedly guide us toward tremendous success and innovation,” said board chairman Cecil Jones in the release.

City of Boston Credit Union was founded in 1915 and now has more than 33,000 members.

Perrin was replaced in early July at Worcester Credit Union by Lucas Miller. The credit union did not give a reason for Perrin’s departure.

“I believe we will create and execute a vision that will position the City of Boston Credit Union for growth and success in an increasingly competitive and dynamic market,” Perrin said.

Before Perrin’s five years at the helm of Worcester Credit Union, she was SVP of retail banking and residential lending at Leominster Credit Union, according to her LinkedIn page.

The press release did not state who Perrin was replacing at City of Boston CU or why the previous CEO was no longer with the company.

City of Boston CU lost nearly $4 million in the first quarter of 2024 after losing approximately $3.3 million in 2023, according to call report data from the National Credit Union Administration.

The credit union operates 10 branches, including a new headquarters location in South Boston.

“Change is hard, but it is also the foundation of continued growth. As I embark onto a new chapter, know that working with you all has been an honor and I am forever grateful and proud of the experiences our collaboration has provided.”
