What’s with the bread?
At Tyfone, we believe in the spirit of collaboration. The old saying “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together” rings true for us. When we think about collaboration and togetherness, we think about the symbolism of breaking bread together.
This gesture – breaking bread together – has a rich meaning. It’s a symbol of familiarity, of welcome, of openness, as well as a gesture signifying peace and friendship.
So we want to both figuratively and literally break bread with you!
For the last 5+ years, Tyfone’s EVP of Evangelism’s wife, Erica, has been baking fresh sourdough for their family. Between Josh, Erica and their two children Jack (4) and Annie (1), they go through an entire loaf of sourdough a day! Josh and Erica want to share their love of fresh sourdough with you through this fun breaking bread Tyfone tradition. Please enjoy this fresh-baked loaf of Erica’s sourdough!
Instructions for enjoying this to its fullest:
If you received a frozen and vacuum sealed loaf –
- Let the loaf thaw at room temperature in the sealed bag (if your loaf is not frozen, you can obviously skip this step).
- Slice and either a) wrap slices in aluminum foil and warm in the oven at 400 degrees for a few minutes or b) microwave on a plate for 10-25 seconds. If you intend to eat the whole loaf (and maybe share with others) heat prior to slicing for optimal freshness results!
What’s included:
Did you know Tyfone was started and headquartered in Portland, Oregon? Did you also know that the Willamette Valley region just 20 minutes southwest of the Tyfone office is known for its phenomenal Pinot Noir and… Olive oil!? Fun fact, the climate here is ideal for growing olives for olive oil!
Included with your fresh loaf of sourdough is olive oil from Durant Olive Mill as well as fresh Fleur De Sel Sea Salt and Herbes de Provence Spice Blend.
Our favorite way to enjoy the fresh sourdough is to cut and warm a slice, take a shallow bowl and mix some olive oil and herbs de Provence Spice, blend and dip your bread in the oil/herb mix and top with a sprinkle of salt!
We truly hope that you enjoy this Tyfone tradition and the symbolism and commitment to collaboration that it embodies. From our family to yours “bon appétit!”
