The Credit Union was established in 1947 by seven American Lake VA Medical Center employees. Originally named American Lake Veterans Administration Federal Credit Union (ALVA FCU), it transitioned from a Federal to a State charter in 1998.

Since then it has merged with Minutemen Credit Union and KBR Credit Union.
